Some facts: In the human history of evolution, the development of sign language and the ability to produce meaningful sound (the characters, the syllables and the words) have played a very important role right from the beginning of civilisation. Initially, the thoughts have spread by verbal (vocal) communication. That gave rise to the development of vocal and audiotory system and the corresponding centers in the CNS including cognition. First the sketches and later the script was developed (somewhere 4000BC) through greater development of the left brain and the right hand of human beings. Initially, the writing was performed on stones (shilaa lekha), tamra patra, clothes, etc.

Infact, the story of printing begins with stamping seal, with this they used to duplicate images (3000BC). However, the present era printing is based on what has developed from movable pieces of metal type started somewhere in 1040 AD. The printing used to be on clothes and later it was performed on paper. This is how communication and thereby knowledge through writing and printing improved and spread extensively from one socio - geographical territory to another.

Before the era of printing there was a saying - "when an African dies the whole library gets buried/burnt". This is because, earlier there were no ways to preserve knowledge. But with the development of script and the printing, it became possible to preserve the knowledge. Actually, it flows down from brain to right hand and then to paper (pandulipi). This is then printed and the produced material is distributed extensively. The matter is preserved as book for ever for the education to huge number of people. Like historical monuments the books also remain source of knowledge for ever unless destroyed. However, in the present era, electronic versions can be preserved and cannot be destroyed while monuments can be.

The recording of speech (audio) became possible from the year 1877 acoustic, 1925 electrical, 1945 magnetic and 1975 onwards digital and; taking pictures using cameras from the year 1839 Daguerreotype and Polaroid type 1948. This then followed the era of mute videos and now we have superb full fledged audio visual recordings. However, despite these kind of recordings, the speeches are mostly written first and then only get transformed into speeches and audio visual recordings. It does not matter whether you write or type, first the word format is prepared, that then takes other forms.

The writing ability is a bliss to human beings. This refines and improves your thoughts. While writing you develop more concentration and new ideas. Writing (in contrast to speeches) gives you lot of time to think from different angles and then write them down. However, you must remember, like making a movie (film), write up is also re-written many number of times, before it becomes possible to publish. This is true even for very experienced writers also.

Writing ability, indeed, comes by our inherent talent, the thrill to write. Person gets motivated sometimes may be by compulsion with the need to improve CV for promotions at their vocational place. However, the intense desire to inform and spread the knowledge to society is a real thrill. Some people actually write for self satisfaction and happiness (swantaya sukhah). But that is not enough, the knowledge must spread by publication (electronic and or print media). This is also a responsibility of every human being.

At last, why is this introduction to the readers. It is for the individuals (those who do not publish) to understand that to become a perfect scholar, scientist, artist, literary person, it is a must to develop writing ability (important tool of communication skill) and spread the knowledge. Infact, no good write up should go without editing by three other people. Two from the same subject and one for language. This is to be done to get our knowledge, shaped to a perfect diamond, for best possible use. Many peer reviewers, commentators and readers can also be helpful in improving your write up.

The people who have talent must write even if the thrill comes through earning of money, reputation, promotion, etc. which is not wrong. However, it will not account to first grade write up.

What to write? The experience, imaginations or thoughts. A medical scholar, a scientist has to write his systematic study of clinical or lab experience. Indeed, that write up becomes his face of the real hard indepth, innovative study done by him, to be seen by the group interested in the subject. One must develop his/ her inner scientific face through such publications.

Greater the face of your meticulous and honest scientific work, a better journal will publish it. Your work will be recognised, while the institution or university will be recognised by the high standard of its publications. Grants will come to the team or university based on its previous research publications.

In conclusion, motivation to write comes through inherent talent (a thrill) to compose a research study (or a thought or an imagination) in a particular style. The matter is then written down for self satisfaction and/ or to contribute to the knowledge pool. It must be considered as your responsibility to inform others about your experience through publication.

You must generate systematically the precise data, study them and publish in a research journal - This is a minimum must to progress in your field, your contribution to the globe for the welfare of human beings and the universe. It means:

To publish and progress is a minimum must for scholars
